Virginia Chouhy
1973. Córdoba, Argentina.
Statement
I constitute myself as a nomadic artist from my origin: Chouhy, the one who comes from outside, the foreigner, the one who walks the path. The path calls me as a track, as a place of procedure, as a territory of action, as an active quarry where taking and offering occur in the same act. I find strength in what emerges. I observe in the matter that persists the resonance of exile, the way of building, of living, the origin. The habitable or uninhabitable nature of space. I collect an object, intuit its will. I believe in the internal powers that transcend the visible form of things. I work from intuition, from a state of uncertainty and unease.
