On Friday 16th, Saturday 17th, and Sunday 18th of June, the 2023 edition of +FERIA – Arte Contemporáneo Santa Fe took place at Estación Belgrano (Bv. Gálvez 1150).
We presented works by Madalí Pizarro (Santa Fe) and Virginia Chouhy (San Nicolás).

The works of Virginia Chouhy and Madalí Pizarro share a strong connection with the spaces they move through and the found objects they encounter in their surroundings. Both artists use object collection as a method to create works that reflect human action. In both practices, the act of walking through spaces—whether urban or natural—is a key element in the development of their pieces, allowing for chance encounters with different materials, objects, and residues found along the way.

In Chouhy’s works, we see clay objects that have been abandoned and/or forgotten by others, which she collects, repairs, and re-signifies by creating new limbs. In her work "Triángulo negro", Chouhy uses charred branches—remnants of fires in the wetlands—to create performative drawings, guided by the energetic charge of these remains.

Madalí Pizarro, on the other hand, uses slip drawing and clay pieces to depict situations that are often invisible in her city, drawing from her own experiences of moving through and relating to these spaces. Through the use of clay and discarded materials, Pizarro seeks to reconstruct collective narratives and personal anecdotes, creating a bridge between the poetic and the symbolic. Her images, through the rawness of clay and the precarious, result in powerful and beautiful works.
