Feria | ArteCo | Madalí Pizarro
From May 23 to 26, the 6th edition of ArteCo, Feria de Arte Contemporáneo de Corrientes, takes place at the Ex Usina venue, located at Av. Juan de Vera and Mendoza, as well as in other spaces and museums of the city of Corrientes. CRUDO is participating in the fair for the first time with a solo show by Madalí Pizarro (Santa Fe, Argentina).
Madalí works with scenes that take place in the north of her city. She observes and translates into images the context where she lives and works. In ceramics, she found numerous possibilities to experiment with textures and colors that approximate the feelings carried by the experiences she brings to us: the earth, the street, the mud, the people, and the neighborhoods. Madalí uses local clay as her raw material, which she extracts from nearby waterways. This material allows her to create a link between the effusiveness of the images and the symbolism of the medium. Through drawing, clay, and recovered materials she finds in dumpsters and on the street, she reconstructs those narratives that traverse her experience, both collective and personal. Her artistic practice remains in constant dialogue with the people around her on her paths and in the spaces where she teaches workshops; there she learns to think of her artistic production as a medium strongly shaped by the social context she inhabits.
