Manifestación
By Ezequiel Nant
*"Manifestation can mean many things: the trail left by a comet as it disintegrates in the sky, the echoes of a tempera painting on burlap, a revelation unfolding in a dream, an apparition. In my case, it is an intuition that gives birth to each of these works. The occurrence as manifestation is, I believe, the most fitting definition in relation to my work.
This is how small, mundane situations present themselves as magical; their protagonists are figures from our littoral region. Animals and humans—equally—find themselves caught between misfortune, solitude, and the sublime. They are small, like the traditional folk songs, an ancient Argentine tenderness that invites one to dwell in silence, in a moment of reflection.
In a dreamlike trance, the work invites us to delve into that littoral and universal time, into the everyday and the ancestral, where a fish, a cat, a cow, a worker, a bird, a tree, fire, rain, and silence all converge."*

Galería Tomada is a series of exhibitions held every Wednesday in February 2025. The initiative emerges from the workshop led by Yuyo Gardiol as the closing event of the in-person Taller Compartido.
The instructors for the 2024 in-person program were Hernán Camoletto, Pauline Fondevila, and Yuyo Gardiol.
